Grady Womble Has designed this adjustable seat, Looks great.
I think the pictures are self explanatory.
The simplest frame has no step thru, and is slightly higher.
Build the right frame rail a mirror image of the left. you will need 1 extra cross fitting. |
Two wood rails were used for the seat supports. |
The four13" frame side tubes were lengthened to 15" to add leg room. |
Note on all frames the wood dowel extends from plug
to plug in the rear most cross member. the steel tube extends from the dowel
forward . If you cut a 10" top rail in half it will run almost to the front
axle.

To build your own brackets the squares are 2" |
If you can not find the plug to the left substitute a 1&1/4"X 3/4" reducer and a 3/4" plug . |

adjust outer bracket so all axle holes are in a straight line and centered in pvc frame. |
Mark the frame center between the projections and center the inner axle hole on that line. |
If you can not find the plug shown to the left. substitute a 1&1/4" to 3/4" reducer and a fender washer. |
Plug with washer inside. |

Assemble brackets as upper right |

This is the left outer, or right inner. |
Turn adjusting screw on the arm all the way in. |
Rotate plastic adjusting nut until arm is spring loaded away from wheel, and tighten bolt. |
Install brackets to bike. Two sets of cables will come with the kit. use the longer cable and discard the others. |
Use adjusting nut to balance opposite sides and prevent drag. |
Insert the barrel end of the cable into the handle and cut the other end off so the cable can pass thru the noodle. |
use 10mm nut to adjust shoe, the toe should contact first. |

You will need to adjust the distance between inner
and outer bracket to 4&1/4" . The easiest way is to add a spacer to the
forward end and increase the bends .
Beware A
severed wire is not covered under warrantee. the supplier charges a $75.00
fee to open the wheel and resolder.
File the holes to fit flat spots on the axle to prevent it from turning.
Use a marker to shade the area that needs to be altered. use the drop out plate as a pattern and scribe with a sharp instrument the rectangular shape. File to except the axle . |
Drill a hole to except the tang on the drop out plate. add a hole to tie back the wire. note some kits do not have the plate. |
Take a common 1/2' lock washer flatten it out. cut a segment out wide enough for the wire to exit. |
The drop out plate has the wire running thru the center. than the lock washer. The wire will now exit in side the bracket thru the notch in the lock washer. |
you will need to tie the wire out of harms way. |
